Andrea Pfefer - 4th Degree Black Belt

Andrea Pfefer has been studying American Kenpo Karate for over twenty years and is currently a 5th Degree Black Belt. She has been the International Karate Champion six times and has won over 100 first place trophies in her tournament career. Today she has about 80 students taking karate lessons at her studio in Telluride, Colorado. Her main focus as an instructor is to instill in her students her knowledge and love of Kenpo Karate.


David Nepsky is a second degree black belt and a senior at Telluride High School. He has been practicing American Kenpo Karate with Andrea Pfefer for 13 years. David won his first "Grand Champion" National Title in 1998 and succeeded as a World Champion in both 2003 and 2004 in traditional Kenpo forms. He also serves as the Telluride High School mascot, "The Miner," earning him the high school spirit award.

Eric Nepsky has been involved in athletics for over 40 years and practicing American Kenpo Karate for the last decade -- achieving a black belt level. He has won many trophys as a black belt, including at the 2007 internationals in the Kenpo Kata division. He has been teaching the philosophy and history of the martial arts since 1980 and was, at one time, a philosophy instructor at Arizona State University. Mr. Nepsky has also been a very dedicated community member, serving on the Telluride School District's Board of Education, past president of the Board of Directors of Telluride Academy, and Athletic Director of the Telluride Middle/High School.

Professor Bob White has contributed to the art of American Kenpo for over thirty-years. On the tournament circuit, he won numerous state, national, and international fighting championships. As a teacher and coach, he has consistently turned out some of the world's finest Kenpo fighters. Over the past twenty-five years, Bob White's karate school has won more than 1200 trophies at the International Karate Championships, and each year throughout the 1990s his students accounted for at least one of the Black Belt Grand Champions at the International Karate Championships. Professor White provides seminars on a wide range of Kenpo-related subjects that include sparring and special self-defense presentation. With headquarters in Costa Mesa, California, he has affiliate schools throughout the U.S. and teaches Kenpo worldwide. Professor White is a frequent visitor to Telluride and has been Ms. Pfefer's instructor since she was 9 years old.
